WHAT TO KNOW

We're so excited to have you join us for this year's summer music camp!

On this page, you'll find all the information you'll need to make this experience as smooth as possible, from check-in to concert.

Programs and Activities 
We provide musical activities in an atmosphere promoting musical growth. Students are assigned to one of four performance groups determined by experience and proficiency. No previous experience is necessary to attend. Registration is open to anyone age 10 or older. Group recreation activities are also planned and supervised by Band Camp staff.

 

Placement Auditions
On the day you arrive at camp, you will play an audition consisting of selected music appropriate for your playing level. Beginners will report directly to the beginning band and strings, respectively.  

 

Facilities 
On campus students will be housed in GBS Residence Halls and will be served all meals in the Student Cafeteria. We offer air-conditioned rehearsal rooms, indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and ample male and female dormitory housing. The concert is held in the beautiful Adcock Chapel. 

 

Lodging

Dorm chaperones live in the dorms the entire week of camp in order to adequately supervise students and care for their safety while in the dorms.

Limited whole family rooms are available for at the weekly rate of $75 and are given out in order of request. Bedding is provided for family guest rooms only.  The facility is not open to campers and families before Monday at 10:30.  Families and students check in to rooms and dormitories Monday morning and check out Saturday morning.

Meals 

All meals are provided from Monday lunch to Saturday breakfast. Meals for guests and family members can be purchased for $5 per meal or $75 for the week. Children 5 and under may eat free with their families. 

 

 

Instruments

Students are responsible for acquiring instruments prior to the first day of camp. For questions regarding purchase or rental, contact David Hartkopf  (513) 823-0044.

Although the schedule may slightly vary depending on the day of the week, a typical day at camp has rehearsals, master classes and sectionals, with recreational activities scheduled in the afternoons and evenings.

Early Registration Discount
Application materials and the $25 registration fee must be received before June 1, 2018.

Walk-in applications must pay in full at time of registration.
